I had my zoom maxed out so I was not that close to the coyotes (there were two), I think we were all comfortable with the distance. The images were not as sharp as I would have liked, but with the zoom maxed without benefit of a tripod and the snow coming down, it would just have to do.
The average paw measures 2-1/2". (Lip Balm measures 2-5/8")
